Is there a potential Mayweather vs. Pacquiao rematch on the cards?
Netflix is exploring the possibility of a rematch between Mayweather and Pacquiao, 10 years after their first fight.
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao faced off in 2015 in what many consider one of the greatest fights in boxing history. The American emerged victorious by unanimous decision, with scores of 118-110, 116-112, and 116-112. Now, ten years later, with both fighters in their forties, a rematch could be on the horizon.
According to a report by Mike Coppinger of Ring Magazine, Netflix is exploring the possibility of staging a Mayweather–Pacquiao rematch. The event would be a major milestone, marking more than a decade since their first encounter—and with only the Filipino legend having fought recently. The bout is reportedly being targeted for 2026.
Pacquiao returned to the ring in July 2025, fighting Mario “El Azteca” Barrios to a draw for the WBC welterweight title. The Filipino icon also announced plans to fight again in January 2026 on a Las Vegas card, though his opponent has yet to be named.
Mayweather, meanwhile, has been retired from professional boxing for eight years. His final fight came against Conor McGregor, where “Pretty Boy” improved his record to 50-0 by stopping “Notorious” in the 10th round at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
