Jannik Sinner or Jannik Singer? Tennis world No. 1 makes shock career change
Sinner, a three-time Grand Slam champion, has released a duet with fellow Italian Andrea Bocelli, one of the world’s best-known tenors.

Jannik Sinner is used to smashes on the tennis court but is now hoping for a smash hit off it after teaming up to perform a duet with one of the world’s most recognizable tenors, Andrea Bocelli, his fellow Italian.
No actual Sinner singing on Bocelli song
In truth, Bocelli does almost all of the heavy lifting on “Polvere e Gloria,” which translates to “Dust and Glory” in English. The veteran musician, who has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, does all of the singing on the track, which is interspersed with parts of both winning and losing speeches made by Sinner during the course of his career to date.
The 23-year-old men’s world No. 1 does, however, feature heavily in the video, which shows the pair recording the song at Bocelli’s study in Tuscany and includes a series of images from both of their childhoods.
Bocelli, whose vision was impaired from birth due to congenital glaucoma, became completely blind after being hit in the eye with a soccer ball at the age of 12, by which point he had already demonstrated his passion for music and singing.
Sinner “extremely moved” by Bocelli duet
“I am very happy and honoured to be part of this project with Andrea, who for 30 years has been a unique and extraordinary voice, a flag for our country in the rest of the world,” said Sinner in a statement confirming the duet’s release.
“I could never have imagined hearing my voice in one of his songs. It’s extremely moving.”
Sinner has topped the men’s world rankings for over a year and has won three Grand Slam titles, including the U.S. Open in 2024. However, he was recently beaten by Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the French Open at Roland-Garros, despite winning the first two sets.
