Latin America Rises: The Sport Integrity Forum 2023 announced by SIGA
The anticipation has reached its peak as we draw closer to the annual Sport Integrity Week (#SIW2023). With just one week to go before the kick-off, SIGA and SIGA LATIN AMERICA are unveiling the full Agenda and releasing the latest details on the first-ever Sport Integrity Forum Latin America.
This high-level thought leadership event, held for the first time in Latin America, is back after an interruption caused by COVID-19 global pandemic. The 2023 edition will be hosted by São Paulo FC at the iconic Morumbi Stadium, from 09:00 to 18:00 local time on 4 September, exactly a week from now.
Following the previous editions London 2017, Lisbon 2017, Rome 2018, Geneva 2018, and New York 2019, the Sport Integrity Forum returns with a reinvigorated agenda, focused on Latin America, and substantial participation from multi-industry stakeholders.
High-profile speakers, such as Brazilian Sports Minister Ana Moser; former FIFA World Champion Mauro Silva; São Paulo FC President Julio Casares; Peninsula Institute President Ana Maria Diniz; José Francisco Manssur, Special Advisor to the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Brazil; Congressman and former Flamengo’s president, Eduardo Bandeira de Mello; Globo’s Sports Director Renato Ribeiro; and Anastasia Divinskaya, UN Women Brazil’s Country Representant; Reinaldo Carneiro Bastos, President São Paulo Football Federation, among many other high-level speakers, will position Brazil and the wider Latin America at the centre stage for the most pressing Sport Integrity topics.
The debate will involve representatives from influential organisations, including the Brazilian Government, Brazilian Congress, Brazilian Olympic Committee, UN, São Paulo FC, Curitiba FC, Racing Club, media giant and SIGA partner Globo, B20, G20, Octagon, EPIC Risk Management, Petrobras, Gol, Instituto Península, Passarelli Group, EY, Pacto Pelo Esporte, and many other key stakeholders connected to the Sport Industry.
Pressing topics, such as Sports Betting Integrity, Brazil’s role in Sport during the G20 & B20 presidency, Global Business, ESG, Gender Equity, Anti-Racism, Diversity and Inclusion, will be addressed by the stellar constellation speakers lined up for the event by SIGA LATIN AMERICA.
One of the highest moments will be the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding between SIGA LATIN AMERICA and the Brazilian Government, represented by the Minister of Sport Ana Moser. Formalising the existing cooperation between SIGA and the Brazilian Government, this agreement will set out the parties’ common concerns, key areas of cooperation and shared priorities, thus paving the way towards a robust and reform-driven joint action plan to be carried out with immediate effect.
Celebrating one week to go to the Sport Integrity Forum Latin America, SIGA and SIGA LATIN AMERICA are proud to release the official Event Guide (EN / PT), detailing an impressive array of critical topics, insightful discussions and world-class protagonists representing the most influential organisations from the world of sport, government, global business and civil society in Brasil and beyond.
Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, Global CEO of SIGA and Chairman & CEO of SIGA LATIN AMERICA, expressed his satisfaction for seeing Latin America’s sports community joining SIGA and supporting its efforts to promote and safeguard Sport Integrity in the Americas and globally:
“Brazil and Latin America are poised to ignite significant reforms. The region has abundant talent and passion for Sport, the will to tackle the current challenges and vulnerabilities, and the power to engage, transform and deliver indispensable reforms. The Sport Integrity Forum Latin America will showcase how this will be done, with the active engagement and participation of the region’s most influential leaders, top experts, and Sport Integrity Champions.
We are all looking forward to this extremely important Sport Integrity Forum. I have no doubt it will spark a new era of enhanced governance, integrity, and transparency in Sport across the region. I thank all our Members and Partners for their relentless support, and I invite everyone to join us at the Morumbi stadium for a fully immersive, dynamic and thought-provocative Sport Integrity Forum. And, please, stick around for the all-star “Integrity Match” that will follow. I’m pretty sure that’s not something you will want to miss either!”
Due to the overwhelming expression of interest, delegate passes sold out within less than 48 hours from the opening of the registration period. However, there is good news: everyone can join in, as the event Media Partner Globo will stream it on the Globo Esporte website.
