The PGA Tour has released its full 47-event schedule for the 2022-2023 season that begins next month at the Fortinet Championship and ends with the Tour Championship in August, in what will be the last campaign of its kind before the tour changes back to a calendar-year-based schedule in 2024.
The Tour will additionally see record prize money, including eight invitational tournaments with highly elevated purses- a change that comes shortly after LIV Golf announced an expansion into 14 tournaments, with $405 million in prize money in 2023.

What are the major changes in the PGA Tour 2022-23?
Some of the notable PGA Tour changes include the BMW Championship moving from Wilmington Country Club in Delaware back to the Chicago area, with Olympia Fields hosting the second of three FedEx Cup playoff events. Just 70 players will qualify for the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, (the first playoff event of next season), and will be fully exempt for the following season. Fifty players will advance to the BMW, with the top 30 qualifying for the season-ending Tour Championship concluding on Aug. 27. Meanwhile, players not in the top 70 will compete for FedEx Cup points and additional status in a series of fall events.
Moreover, those top-50 finishers in the FedEx Cup playoffs will be eligible to compete in a series of international events that are expected to be released later this year. The tour did release that the limited-field will also be open to the top performers in the fall series.

PGA Tour increased prize money and purse
Both of the first two FedEx Cup playoff events will have their purse increase from $15 million to $20 million, as all events in the upcoming season see prize money payouts escalate.
The Sentry Tournament of Champions’ purse will go from $8.2 million to $15 million, while the three player-hosted invitationals—the Genesis Invitational, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Memorial Tournament, in addition to the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play- will all go from $12 million to $20 million in prize money.
The total FedEx Cup bonus pool will be $75 million once again, and the Comcast Business top 10 will pay $20 million to the top 10 finishers in the FedEx Cup regular-season standings. With the bonus pools increasing to $145 million overall, the Player Impact Program will include $50 million in total bonuses.
Other changes include the CJ Cup moving from South Korea to South Carolina. The only World Golf Championship event on the schedule will be the match play, as the WGC-HSBC Champions event in China has been canceled.
