What is the cut line at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans 2024? Who’s going home early?

The format is different this week on the PGA Tour, but one thing stays the same, only the top golfers will be playing this weekend

Friday teams are playing alternate shot (foursomes) and are having a harder time shooting low scores. Play is faster and very entertaining for golf fans. Some of golf’s top names have made it down to New Orleans with the exception of Scottie Scheffler, who is expecting his first child to be born any day now and some big names are going home early.

The weather is perfect in Louisiana and the 2-man teams have been struggling to make birdies. McIlroy and Lowry, who were picked by many golf experts as favorites to win this weekend, have had their ups and downs, but managed to remain at the top of the leaderboard. As most golf fans know, team golf can provide some big surprises and lesser known players can make it to the top of the leaderboard if the chemistry is right and they can make the big shots when needed, as is the case at the moment with Brehm/Hubbard, Thompson/Novak and Rai/Lipsky along with the Irish squad of McIlory/Lowry and the US Ryder Cup teammates, Cantlay/Schauffele.

What’s the cut line at the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans?

80 teams of two players started the tournament yesterday and 33 teams plus ties will qualify for the final rounds on Saturday and Sunday. At the moment the cut line is projected at 8-under par (-8).

We will be updated some of the big names who might miss the cut line as play continues on Friday. It looks like last week’s winner at the Corales Championship, Billy Horschel, will be able to get some rest this weekend. Team Theegala/Zalatoris are struggling to get back to 8-under par and are currently below the cut line. Veterans Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker will be heading home early unless they can make two more birdies on the back nine.
