What is the cut line at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans 2025? Who’s not going to be playing this weekend?
The format is different this week on the PGA Tour, but one thing stays the same, only the top golfers will be playing this weekend

It’s Friday at the Zurich Classic in New Orleands and teams are playing alternate shot (foursomes) and are having a harder time shooting low scores. Play is faster and very entertaining for golf fans. Some of golf’s top names have made it down to New Orleans with the exception of Scottie Scheffler, who is still trying to find his A-game this season. Xander Schauffele didn’t make the trip to New Orleans either, but the level of golf is top notch and the format is fun to watch.

The weather is perfect in Louisiana and the 2-man teams have been struggling to make birdies. McIlroy and Lowry, who were picked by many golf experts as favorites to win this weekend again after claiming victory in 2024, have had their ups and downs.
As most golf fans know, team golf can provide some big surprises and lesser known players can make it to the top of the leaderboard if the chemistry is right and they can make the big shots when needed, as is the case at the moment with Salinda/Velo, Novak/Griffin and Bridgeman/Phillips.
PGA TOUR Rookies Isaiah Salinda and Kevin Velo set the 18-hole Zurich Classic of New Orleans record in Four-ball with a 14-under 58.

Some impressive scores were had on Thursday in the fourball (best ball) format with a new 18-hole record set by Salinda/Velo with a 14-under par 58!
What’s the cut line at the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans?
80 teams of two players started the tournament yesterday and 33 teams plus ties will qualify for the final rounds on Saturday and Sunday. At the moment the cut line is projected at 10-under par (-10).
We will be updated some of the big names who might miss the cut line as play continues on Friday. It looks like the most veteran team on the course Zach Johnson and Ryan Palmer will not be playing on Saturday or Sunday. Wyndham Clark and Taylor Moore needed to make some birdies to make the cut on Friday and the Fitzpatrick brothers were in the same situation and neither team will be playing this weekend.
Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are enjoying themselves on and off the course in New Orleans. Expect the Irish team to make a run at the top of the leaderboard on Friday. They got off to a quick start but finished bogey-bogey and are five shots back.
