When was the last time Scottie Scheffler missed a cut? World No. 1 in trouble at US Open

He’s the best for a reason and the top players don’t miss many cuts. Scheffler is on the cut line at Pinehurst No. 2 and will be watching the leaderboard to see if he plays this weekend.

We’ve gotten used to seeing him at the top of leaderboards. He has had two great seasons in 2023 and 2024 so far. Even after getting arrested at the 2024 PGA Championship, he managed to finish T8. Not even the police can keep Scottie down, but the Pinehurst No. 2 course might be the first venue to get the best of Scheffler in a long time.

He has won five times already in 2024: the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March, The Players Championship that same month, The Masters Tournament and last week in Ohio at the Memorial Tournament. He has only finished outside of the top 10 once this year, at the Genesis Invitational in February. His earnings so far this year are over $24 million.

2023 was almost as impressive. Scheffler made all the cuts in the 23 events he played in. He won the Phoenix Open, the Players Championship and the Hero World Challenge. In the majors he finished T10 at the 2023 Masters, T2 at the PGA Championship, 3rd place at the US Open and T23 at the British Open. He pocketed $21 million last year and never came close to missing a cut.

When was the last time Scheffler missed a cut?

We have to go all the way back to August 2022 to find the last missed cut by Scottie. He didn’t play on Saturday and Sunday at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. It only happened in three other tournaments in the 2021-2022 season: at the PGA Championship, at the Genesis Scottish Open and back in October 2021 at the Shriners Children’s Open.

Chances are we’ll see Scottie with an early tee time tomorrow, but it depends on what happens this afternoon at Pinehurst No. 2.
