With Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm looking to win their third and fourth Tour Championship titles respectively, it is set to be an intriguing battle in Dubai, at the final event of this year’s DP World Tour Championship season.
In a strong field of hitters, Ryder Cup players Viktor Hovland, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, and Matt Fitzpatrick will all be gunning for glory out in the desert.
Where is the DP World Tour Championship being played?
The 45th and final event of the DP World Tour season is held at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai. The Estate features two Greg Norman-designed courses, named Fire and Earth.
The event will take place on the Earth Course - a par 72 measuring a maximum of 7,675 yards.
Who is playing in the DP World Tour Championship?
Ten members of Europe’s winning Ryder Cup team are involved, with seven from Scandinavia, including Sweden’s Alexander Bjork and Vincent Normrman, Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen, Nicolai and Rasmus Hojgaard, Finland’s Sami Valimaki and Hovland.
Six of the top 20 players in the official golf world rankings will participate as well as the top 50 players from the Race to Dubai rankings.
Non-European golfers in the field include Ryo Hisatsune, Thriston Lawrence, Zander Lombard, Daniel Hillier and Lucas Herbert.
Who are the favourites to win the DP World Tour Championship?
Rory McIlroy (9/2), Jon Rahm (11/2) and Min Woo Lee (16/1) will fancy their chances of lifting silverware.
McIlroy is set to become Europe’s no.1 golfer this weekend after defending the Race to Dubai title, while Rahm has the opportunity to win the event for a record fourth time.
