The NHL 4 Nations Face-Off has been a resounding success for the league with the mini-tournament replacing the All-Star game.

The highly anticipated final is expected to draw huge television ratings and is expected to be the ice hockey game with the highest betting activity ever!

Four nations (USA, Canada, Finland and Sweden) all using NHL based players played in group of four with the top two advancing to the Boston final.

Canada edged out Sweden by virtue of goal difference and will face the USA who topped the group despite losing their last game 2-1 to the Swedes.

When Team USA faced Canada last weekend in Montreal, the match-up was a bruising encounter with the USA winning out despite going behind to an early Canada goal.

Political tensions filtered down to the stand with the US national anthem getting a resounding jeer and boos from the 21,000 crowd at the Bell Centre.

Boston Bruins anthem singer Todd Angilly will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” at TD Garden before Thursday night’s 4 Nations Face-Off game between Canada and the USA.
