The two-time winner has been forced to pull out of the event which tees off today at the TPC Louisiana in Avondale.

Billy Horschel has pulled out of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans at the eleventh hour due to injury. The American, ranked 24th in the OWGR world ranking was due to partner Tom Hoge over the next fours days at the TPC Louisiana in Avondale but withdrew after suffering a “lower body injury”. Hoge will now play alongside Kevin Chappell at the event.
Injury forces Horschel to miss the Zurich Classic
Horschel explained on social media: “Sucks to withdraw from the Zurich Classic. Unfortunately, I have a lower body injury. Hopefully after a few days of rest, recovery and therapy, I’ll be back and good to go” .
Horschel is the only player to have won the Zurich Classic in both its original format and as a team event - winning the 2013 tournament by one stroke then five years later alongside Scott Piercy, in the second edition featuring 160 players in two-man teams.
So close to my 1st hole in one of my career on the PGA Tour. Decent week of golf. Game is not far away. Keep grinding until my run comes.

Thank you to @RBC_Heritage for a great week. One for best weeks all year. Crowds were amazing this week. Maybe the biggest I’ve ever seen… pic.twitter.com/NA6a9erdPD
