Update:

Less than a month after his last match in Las Vegas for Wrestlemania weekend, Terry Brunk - better known as Sabu - has passed away at the age of 60.

The wrestling world mourns the loss of an icon

Sabu was one of the most iconic and influential figures in professional wrestling, a trailblazer inside and outside of the ring. Known for his extreme and high-risk style, Sabu rose to prominence in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and became a key figure in shaping hardcore wrestling.

Sabu was known for iconic matches involving tables, barbed wire, and high-flying stunts, as well as his signature move - the Triple Jump Moonsault. He was a two-time ECW World Heavyweight Champion, and an ECW World Television Champion. Though his time in WWE was short, it was impactful. There, he competed against stars like John Cena, Rey Mysterio, and Big Show.

His impact reached an international level as well, as Sabu competed in top promotions like FMW and NJPW (Japan), TNA/Impact Wrestling, MLW, NWA, and various independent circuits.

Sabu’s last public appearance, after Wrestlemania weekend last month, was just days ago at the historic 2300 Arena - ECW’s spiritual home. The details surrounding Sabu’s death are still unknown, but tributes are already pouring in as fans and peers remember a trailblazing icon who never shied away from pain or spectacle in the ring.
