2024 United States Grand Prix: preview

The three-time defending world champion, Verstappen began the 2024 season with seven race victories out of 10 - but the Red Bull driver hasn‘t won any of the last seven GPs.

Meanwhile, McLaren‘s Norris has taken the chequered flag in two of the last four races, as the Briton chases the first World Drivers’ Championship of his career. Having trailed Verstappen by 84 points after the British GP in early July, Norris is now within 52 points of the Dutchman.

As one of six Grands Prix that also include a sprint race - worth an extra eight points to the winner - the US Grand Prix offers Norris the potential to take a bigger-than-usual bite out of Verstappen’s advantage.
