The ball is rolling in the Copa América and we’ve already seen some sensational results and performances.

Group C threw up some fantastic action, with all of the USMNT, Panama, Bolivia and Uruguay getting their campaigns underway.

The first game in the group was the USMNT vs Bolivia, which was won 2-0 by Berhalter’s side. As for the game in Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, it was Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay who walked away with the victory against Panama.

Bolivia 0-2 USMNT

Home advantage paid off hugely for the USMNT who swept aside a lacklustre Bolivia side at AT&T Stadium. Goals from Pulisic and Balogun gave them the three points, with the former impressive on all fronts, collecting the MVP award after the final whistle.

Tougher games will come for the US, with their next two fixtures looking like testing ties as they continue their campaign, but a strong showing against easily the weakest side in the group will undoubtedly give them confidence ahead of time.

Uruguay 3-1 Panama

Two former Leeds United managers faced off in this opener, with Marcelo Bielsa going up against former Barcelona player Thomas Christensen in what looked like a tricky test for the Uruguayans. Panama had reached the 2023 Gold Cup final, losing only to Mexico beating the US on the way, but the high press and all-out-action of the Celeste was too much to handle.

Araújo, Darwin and Viña all got on the scoresheet and showed that this side continues to make big leaps forward and can no longer be considered a dark horse in the tournament.

As for the next games, the USA will take on their old foes in Panama (Sun 23, 5 PM ET), while Uruguay will look to make light work of a Bolvia side (Sun 23, 9 PM ET) who need to find inspiration from somewhere if they are to halt their constant, full-throttle football.
