2025 NWSL fixtures revealed: what games to watch out for, key dates
Orlando Pride are the team to beat as the countdown ahead of the new NWSL season is well underway.
The countdown to the new 2025 NWSL season is very much underway with all teams currently making final touches to their rosters and getting ready for pre-season training camps.
This will be the last fourteen team league campaign with Bos Nation FC set to join the league in 2026 with the Boston franchise set to be joined further down the line by the sixteenth team after the city of Denver was awarded an expansion license.
2024 saw the league break attendance and television viewing records and will hope to maintain this positive momentum as profile for the NWSL grow both domestically and with an international audience.
The format of the competition remains the same with all teams playing each other on a home/away basis with the final eight in the standings set to progress to the playoffs.
Counting down to March 2025
The new campaign gets underway on March 14, as reigning champions Orlando Price welcome Chicago Red Stars to Florida with Houston Dash-Washington Spirit kicking off at the same time.
The regular season runs through to the weekend of October 31 for Decision Day when the final games will be staged.
Prior to the end of the campaign, August 8-10 sees rivalry weekend with high profile derby games taking centre stage (Portland-Seattle, San Diego-Angel City along with a Gotham vs Washington clash).
The playoffs commence on November 7-9 with the semifinals a week later and the Championship final earmarked for November 22 with the venue to be confirmed later down the line by the NWSL.
