The Santos striker is said to be the sole heir in the official and validated will of a businessman whose estate is close to a billion dollars.
It’s no secret that Neymar’s net worth is enormous. The Brazilian star, one of the highest-earning athletes in the world, has built his fortune through the various contracts he has signed throughout his football career, as well as through advertising campaigns and business investments. Yet his most significant financial windfall may not come from any of these sources.
According to local press reports, later picked up by numerous international outlets, a Brazilian billionaire has left his entire estate to Neymar. The billionaire’s identity remains unknown, and the amount the Santos striker is expected to inherit—pending legal processing—is reportedly $846 million.
The will was formalized at an office in Porto Alegre, as confirmed by the Brazilian newspaper RIC, and was subsequently authenticated on June 12 in the alleged presence of two witnesses. The news report even includes a photograph of the official document that could make this astronomical transfer possible.
Neymar was named heir primarily because the man, according to the newspaper, has no children and is single. Additionally, the businessman reportedly “identifies with him on a personal level,” a connection reflected in the close relationship between Neymar and his father, Neymar Sr., which “reminds him of his own deceased father.”
