After beating Burnley, when can Arsenal be confirmed as Premier League champions?
Monday’s narrow win over Burnley has left Arsenal on the verge of ending their 22-year Premier League title drought.

After beating Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Monday, Arsenal are on the brink of winning their first Premier League title in over two decades.
Kai Havertz’s first-half goal gave the Gunners a nervy 1-0 win over the already-relegated Clarets, leaving Mikel Arteta’s men five points clear of title rivals Manchester City. If City fail to win their matchday-37 clash with Bournemouth on Tuesday, Arsenal will be confirmed as the 2025/26 English champions.
The North Londoners last won the Premier League in 2003/04, when Arsène Wenger’s ‘Invincibles’ registered an unbeaten league season.
Premier League top two - as it stands:
- 1. Arsenal: P37 Pts 82 GD +43
- 2. Man City: P36 Pts 77 GD +43
The EPL title permutations
Were City to draw or lose against the Cherries, Arsenal would have an unassailable advantage at the top. They would be more than three points clear, with only one round of matches left in the Premier League campaign.
Were City to beat Bournemouth, Pep Guardiola’s men would take the Premier League title race into the final weekend of the season. Arsenal would have a two-point lead, meaning they would have to win their final game - at Crystal Palace - to be sure of winning the championship.
Were Arsenal to draw with Palace in this scenario, a matchday-38 win for City over Aston Villa would leave the top two level on points - and would see the title fight come down to goal difference. As the table above shows, Arsenal and City are both on +43 as things stand.
