After rejecting a new contract, this América starlet has his sights set on Europe
Ralph Orquín is set to leave Las Águilas as a free agent, in search of an opportunity at a European club.

A homegrown player is on the verge of leaving Club América for free. The player in question is Ralph Orquín, who appears set on declining a contract extension with Las Águilas in order to make the jump to Europe.
Reports in recent weeks indicated that Orquín had no intention of renewing with América. According to sources, his agent advised him not to extend his deal so he could walk away as a free agent and pursue opportunities abroad.
In response, Orquín made a savvy move, according to a report by the journalist César Merlo. Per Merlo, the 22-year-old fullback has successfully applied for a Spanish passport, meaning he can now be registered as an EU player - an important step toward signing with a European club.

Few opportunities at América
After coming up through América’s famed academy system, Orquín saw very limited playing time with the first team. His Liga MX debut didn’t even arrive in yellow and blue. Instead, FC Juárez handed him his first top-flight minutes during the Clausura 2024.
While on loan with Bravos, he logged 47 matches and more than 3,000 minutes. He returned to América for the Apertura 2025, but found game time hard to come by under manager André Jardine. With the senior team, he appeared in just three matches.
