Ansu Fati leads Xavi’s Barcelona revolution

The young striker has all the numbers to regain ownership of a starting berth, and could fit in alongside Gavi and Ferran for the match against Villarreal.

Update:
Ansu Fati leads Xavi’s Barcelona revolution

Xavi Hernández already warned ahead of the match against Villarreal that he would make a minimum of three or four changes compared to the eleven that were seen off on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabéu.

How Barcelona grow with Ansu Fati

The area of the team that could be most affected by the rotations would be in the forward lines, where everything points to a change on both wings. Thus, both Dembélé and Raphinha would step aside to make way for Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres. The only one who would remain immovable is Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

In midfield, another change is also taken for granted: the arrival of the brand new ‘Kopa’ boy, Gavi. The question is who would be sacrificed with this move. Sergio Busquets, who has played practically every minute since the season began, is the most likely, especially after the captain’s poor performance in El Clásico.

And in defense there will also be some retouching, although in principle Koundé and Eric will remain in the eleven. The possibility of Marcos Alonso or Alba joining the team to replace Balde on the left is an option.

The one who remains unchanged between the sticks is Ter Stegen, who is the only player in the squad who is a mainstay.

After Real Madrid’s win in Elche, only three points will be accepted by the blaugrana fans.
