Barcelona vs Inter: as it happened
That's all folks!
Let's leave it there. Thanks for following the crazy action at Montjuïc.
Joe
What a game!
A ludicrous game at Montjuïc means both teams need to be at their A-game for the return leg - which can't come soon enough!
Barcelona and Inter play out instant classic
The Lamine Yamal show got going and we all enjoyed it greatly, it's just a shame - if you're a Barça fan - that they were 0-2 down before it started.
Inter Milan began the game with a sensational goal from Thuram, who flicked the ball delightfully past Szczesny before Dumfries finished off acrobatically to make it 0-2. Between the goals, however, Barcelona fired warning shot after warning shot, and gently got warmed up before taking the plunge and scoring some goals of their own.
The first one was a now typical Lamine Yamal squirm, one of those where he opens his school science book, breaks the laws of physics, pops back into reality and the ball somehow ends up in the net.
It was Pedri's clipped pass sent back across goal by Raphinha that allowed Ferran to equalise, but that was the only Barcelona move of the game that didn't see Lamine Yamal involved.
He stunned constantly during the game and another 45 minutes of that came and made everyone, including myself, very happy indeed. Not because I am a Barça fan - I'm not - but because his football performance was nothing short of miraculous.
The second half came and the intensity levels did drop, but that didn't stop the drama. While both sides battled in a slower, more acutely tactical affair, the goals kept coming as Dumfries added another one to his account with a strong leap and header to put Inter ahead once more.
Their lead, however, lasted but a moment as Raphinha send a Falcon Heavy rocket off Sommer's crossbar - then his backside - before rattling into the net.
After that, Barcelona pressed high and boxed Inter in, but the Italian wall stood firm and both sides will travel to Italy with it all to play for.
FULL-TIME!
Nobody wanted that game to end. What a wild, fun, fantastic game of football.
Into the final minute.
SAVE! Raphinha takes the ball 30 yards from goal and sends an ICBM towards Sommer that he tips over the bar.
3 added minutes. The crowd roar in frustration.
Into the final minute...
Into minute 89 and the Barcelona crosses are suffocating Inter...
OFF THE BAR!!! Lamine Yamal hits the bar for the second time: this one is a clipped cross towards Raphinha that looks to be flying out behind goal. It drops like a stone and clunks off the top of the bar before being cleared away by a white shirt with even whiter knuckles.
Christensen cuts out a nice one-two on Inter's right as they look to break away with Darmian and Bisseck.
Inter have dropped into a low block that is happy to shuffle left and right like an army of crabs; it's only Taremi who is close to the halfway line for the Italians. Barça can't get in, however, so it's working as things stand.
Flick makes more changes:
OFF: Pedri, Martínez
ON: Christensen, Gavi
OFF: Dumfries, Thuram
ON: Zielinski, Darmian
Szczesny does well to get off his line and scoop away a through ball that almost saw Dumfries through again.
Prior to that, Lamine Yamal had the crowd on their feet with another moment of quality on the ball, taking on three thousand defenders in one slick move.
It's driven low towards the far post and Sommer gets down well to save.
Raphinha steps up...
The referee was right there to give the free-kick against Lamine Yamal right on the edge of the box after the winger is tripped... a great chance to shoot here for Barcelona.
Offside given.
Inter have it in the net... but it's offside!
Dumfries sends the ball across the Barcelona back line and Mkhitaryan puts it past Szczesny, but the linesman has blown for offside.
Fifteen to go... will we see a winner?
Fermín spins and opens up towards Raphinha who sees his shot blocked by Bisseck from a tight angle inside the box.
CHANCE. Thuram is played in behind after Cubarsí is caught out; his shot is poor and the defender manages to get down well to stop the effort and send it out for a throw.
Inter make another change:
OFF: Çalhanoglu
ON: Frattesi
One, two, three crosses are put in by Barcelona - Inter stand strong.
Fermín then tries his best impression of Lamine Yamal, slipping and sliding past challenges on the edge of the box, but he gets crowded out.
Flick switches things up:
OFF: Olmo
ON: Fermín
Underway again, again, again, again, again, again...
MY OH MY WHAT A STRIKE!
A Barcelona corner is played on the ground to Lamine Yamal. The winger lets it roll through his legs and Raphinha runs on the ball before firing a rocket into the top corner that, if aimed correctly, could have reached Mars. It fires off the crossbar and into the back of the net. Stunning.
GGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL
RAPHINHA HAS SCORED THE GOAL OF THE SEASON!!!!!
Back underway...
Çalhanoglu's corner is headed in by Dumfries, who rises highest to meet it at the far post. Simple but deadly from Inter, as they have been in front of goal today.
CHANCE. A dangerous shot from Thuram hits Araujo and the ball squirms just past Szczesny's post. The gasp from the Barcelona crowd behind the goal was audible.
Inter have dropped 10 yards and Barcelona smell blood: they've turned up the intensity over the past few minutes...
Lamine Yamal is just turning up the heat a little: a flicked cross with the outside of his boot is cleared away by Augusto.
A slick counter attack from Barcelona ends with a weak Lamine Yamal shot that is easily collected by Sommer. Barcelona fans will be slightly miffed by their approach to this half.
Another Inter change:
OFF: Dimarco
ON: Augusto
A shot from Pedri is fizzed wide after the midfielder caught a dropping ball on the edge of the box.
The intensity of the game has certainly dropped, with both teams struggling to string a serious sequence of passes together.
Inter seem to be more solid on the ball, or at least Barcelona are happy for them to have it in the middle third.
It's been a 'calm' opening to the half, with no goals. Can you believe that, no goals?!
And Araujo welcomes himself to the pitch with a crunching tackle on Thuram.
Second half underway!
And we're off!
Martínez doesn't make the second half
OFF: Lautaro
ON: Taremi
Interesting from Flick:
OFF: Gerard Martín
ON: Araujo
Changes coming up for Barcelona...
Flick is changing his defence for the second half.
Half-time musings:
The Lamine Yamal show got going and we have all enjoyed it greatly, it's just a shame - if you're a Barça fan - that they were 0-2 down before it started.
The first one was a sublime Lamine Yamal squirm, one of those where he opens his school science book, breaks the laws of physics, pops back into reality and the ball somehow ends up in the net.
It was Pedri's clipped pass sent back across goal by Raphinha that allowed Ferran to equalise, but that was the only Barcelona move of the game that didn't see Lamine Yamal involved.
He has been stunning during this game and another 45 minutes of that will make me very happy indeed. Not because I am a Barça fan - I'm not - but because his football performance has been nothing short of miraculous.
Half-time!
The scores are level at the break in what has been a whirlwind half of football.
Barcelona are, as you might expect, happy to keep hold of the ball until the referee blows the whistle.
2 added minutes.
OK, he's still on the pitch but he's hobbling around until Inter organise a change.
It looks like a pulled muscle, perhaps, but he's almost in tears and is waiting for a change.
Oh, it looks like Lautaro Martínez has injured himself...
Mkhitaryan steals the ball from Lamine Yamal inside the box after another show of dancing feet sees him skip past various white shirts.
A huge blow for Barça:
OFF: Koundé
ON: Eric García
Back underway. No sign of either Koundé nor Eric.
Eric García is warming up as Koudé is being seen to by medical staff.
Jules Koundé is down on the turf...
Back underway...
Pedri sends a clipped cross from deep that is aimed towards the far post where Raphinha is waiting. The ex-Leeds forward heads the ball across goal where Ferran sneaks in to tap past Sommer.
SAVE. Sommer gets down well to stop Olmo's low effort after the forward got on the end of a loose but brilliant tackle on Lamine Yamal by Acerbi. Inter had lost the ball in a high turnover and looked destined to concede again.
Sommer pushes away another Lamine Yamal cross. The kid is on one tonight.
Lamine Yamal flicks a cross into the box and it's inch perfect for Ferran, who can't time his jump well enough to make contact. Again, the danger is all coming from the Spaniard.
Inter get the ball and remember what shape it is; Mkhitaryan sends a ludicrously ambitious pass out to Dumfries, who is all on his own on the right. It's overhit, however, and he can't get on the end of it.
SAVE AGAIN. Sommer again. Lamine Yamal's low cross is punched away as Raphinha arrives in the box. Inter are holding on...
SAVE. Olmo persists despite facing away from goal. He wiggles and squirms past a defender and his low body position means he can't quite get his shot off properly. Sommer saves.
Half an hour gone and I feel like I've played most of this game.
Sommer takes ages with a goalkick and we get the loudest noise of the night so far, with piercing whistles from the crowd kindly telling him to hurry up.
OFF THE BAR!!! Lamine Yamal sends Dimarco for an arancino, who slides in to tackle him on the byline. The winger skips inside on his left and slams the shot against the bar!
Back underway. What a game.
Lamine Yamal takes the ball on the right corner of the box. He jinks left past one, slides right and skips past a third defender before curling a whipped effort into the left corner of the goal. Sommer, stuck in the mud, can't move to stop the effort that clips the post on its way into the goal.
We're back underway but my. oh my...
Inter swing in the corner and it's headed towards Szczesny. Dumfries leaps high in the air as the ball is travelling towards goal, spins his body and sends a sublime overhead into the corner!
DUMFRIES!!!
HUGE CHANCE. Again it's Ferran and again it's wide. The forward sliced a shot wide of goal from a tight angle that fizzed past the far post.
Raphinha's corner is almost met by Íñigo Martínez, but Bissek - who looked to have switched off - heads away superbly well.
It's Barça in the Inter camp here, but the Italians are doing a nice job of kicking away everything that enters the box.
Olmo tries what would have been a sublime through pass towards Raphinha but Dumfries cuts it out well on the edge of the box.
Sommer punches away and the following cross is headed out of the danger zone by Lautaro.
Barcelona win a free-kick on the right, about 45 yards out. Raphinha will swing it in...
Solid tracking back from Mkhitaryan as Raphinha's cutback cross needs sorting out - he does a solid job of making up the ground to stop a hungry Lamine Yamal from making contact on the edge of the box.
WIDE. A huge, huge chance for Barcelona. Lamine Yamal slides in a wonderful cross low into the feet of El Tiburón, who takes a touch and flashes a shot towards the right-hand side of the goal that takes paint off the post as it flashes past Sommer.
A bouncing ball in the box - sent in by Bastoni from the left - causes chaos in the Barcelona defence; they are visibly nervous at the back in the opening stages of tonight's game.
Dumfries goes up against Gerard Martín after being played in by Lautaro in a passing move that once again sliced open the Catalans. His touch is, unfortunately for him, too heavy and the defender wins it back on halfway.
Barcelona attack and Lamine Yamal is down in the box. Again, no foul.
Barcelona are camping in the Inter Milan defensive third and are pressing in their opponents. Raphinha tries to lift a cheeky ball over the top but Sommer comes out well to catch the crafty cross.
De Jong goes down in the box after challenging a header with Çalhanoglu: the referee waves play on despite the fury from the fans.
Inter haven't seen the ball since conceding; Barcelona have a corner that's easily defended by the Italians.
A dangerous ball across from Lamine Yamal is almost headed back across goal but Inter defend well.
Underway again. Huge whistles from the crowd as Inter get off to a dream start.
An Inter attack slices open Barcelona as Lautaro sends Dumfries away in behind the defence with a stunning pass. Kounde clears the cross from the wing back, but it's a poor effort and the Dutch defender gets it again.
His cross is sent in again, and Thuram is waiting to flick the ball with his heel and into the net!
And we're underway in Cataluña!
The away side get us going, kicking right to left.
But first...
A moment of silence in remembrance of Pope Francis.

The players are in the tunnel!
And we've got a deafening wall of noise from all four sides of the pitch.
UEFA say there are NO CHANGES to the Barcelona XI
That's the latest information at the present time.
Let's see if Lamine Yamal returns to the pitch...
His teammates are in the dressing room and it remains to be seen whether or not he will make the XI.
Potential Lamine Yamal injury...
The winger has just returned early to the Barcelona dressing room holding his thigh...
Let's see if he can play tonight but that is a huge blow for Barcelona.
Another chance for Hansi Flick to shine
Pedri recently spoke about Flick's influence on the side, saying that "Hansi Flick is like a father to us. He always tries to take care of us. He's there to support you if you're not playing, and he always tries to help you. He looks strict from the outside, but he always stand by us when going through a bad time”.
FIFTEEN MINUTES TO GO!
The players are coming to the end of their warmups now and the Barcelona players are being cheered on by their fans - we've got just minutes to go!
Here's how Sofascore see the evening on paper
Inter are in their usual 3-5-2 and Barcelona's 4-2-3-1 is on show in what will be a hugely tactical battle on Spain's east coast.

Lamine Yamal's milestone
As he's playing today, Lamine Yamal is set to make his 100th appearance for FC Barcelona.
The young winger has already made his name as one of the top players in the world, and he's turned his game from showcasing flashy moments into complete match-controlling abilities.
This season, he's formed a formidable partnership with both Raphinha and Lewandowski, who have worked together to outscore the majority of opponents this season on their way... to a potential treble?
RODOFO MOLINA / DIARIO AS
No Lewa for Barcelona
With an astonishing 40 goals in 48 games, a 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski is the top scorer in all competitions among players from the top five European leagues.
He will, on paper, be a huge miss for the Catalan side, although Ferran Torres has been chipping in handsomely when needed, as have plenty of midfielders.
Add in the goals from the strongest wing partnership in all the land and you've got yourself one fine Lewa-replacement plan.
Inter arrive at the stadium!
The away side, with their serious faces on, have arrived at the Estadi Lluís Companys.
Subs!

Where the battle will be won and lost
I believe that today's battle could well be won on the wings, with Mkhitaryan and Calhanoglu set to have a potentially tough time up against the unstoppable legs of De Jong and Pedri.
Whether or not the away side can control the game on the ball will be a big question, and how they manage their on-ball tactics out wide, getting the ball out to Dimarco and Dumfries, will arguably be the key to the game. Kounde will pile up front, and a young Gerard Martín will be a target, so there could well be space to exploit...
INTER XI CONFIRMED
Thuram, the only major doubt in the XI tonight, has made the cut in a stellar side from Inzaghi.
A reminder of the team news:
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has had to put his squad jigsaw together carefully this evening as he is without Bernal, Casadó, Balde and Lewandowski, who all have various injuries to deal with.
Some young names have come into the fold such as Astralaga, Fort and Pablo Torre, with Gerard Martín tipped to start at left-back.
Benjamin Pavard is the standout absence for the Italians, who will also be withoutValentín Carboni.
As well as those two, fans have been sweating over the fitness of forward Marcus Thuram, who is doubtful for the first leg.
BARCELONA XI CONFIRMED
It's pretty much as we expected from Hansi Flick: Ferran takes the place of Lewandowski and Gerard Martín comes in for Balde.

Weather check!
It's around 65ºF in Barcelona right now as the sun sets behind the mountain where the stadium sits.
There's a light breeze and absolutely no chance of rain. It's officially t-shirt weather all around us on Spain's east coast. Delightful.
When is the final?
Speaking of the Champions League final, it is set to be played on May 31, at 3pm ET.
The showpiece game will be held at Bayern Munich's home ground, the Allianz Arena.
Barça eye UCL glory
If you're a Barcelona fan, this video is sure to make you weak at the knees. The club have posted a dramatic video that shows their ambitions for the season: they want the treble.
In what has already been a fantastic year for the club, who are playing sensational football, it could end up being truly historic.
Inter's road to the semis
Inter Milan got the better of Bayern Munich in the previous round, knocking out a team that many tipped as potential winners of the tournament.
It was the Lautaro Martínez show in the first leg as he got the goals going, before Müller equalised late on. However, Frattesi bagged an 87th minute winner to take a lead back to Italy, a goal that proved vital in the tie.
Back on home soil, four goals came within 20 minutes as Lautaro and Pavard scored for the hosts, with Kane and Dier bagging for the Germans. The blue and black wall stood tall and the Germans, despite their power, didn't have enough to get through.
Perfect Pedri...
It would be absolutely horrific of me - and likely a sackable offence - if I did not mention Pedri's form in the build-up to today's game.
The Canary Islander has been arguably Barcelona's best player this season, along with many other candidates for the title, but his slick on-ball play has been added to with exceptional off-ball performances across the season; he opened the scoring against Real Madrid and basically ruled the game for large swathes in what was just the latest example of his unbelievable talent we've become used to seeing from him in a Barça shirt.
Who's got the historic advantage?
Barcelona and Inter Milan are, without question, two of Europe's most historically rich sides when it comes to competing at the top level: they have faced each other a total of 16 times, with Barcelona winning eight times.
The Italians have won 3 times and the spoils have been shared on five occasions.
What happened in the quarterfinals?
The Catalans got past Borussia Dortmund in the previous round of the competition, thrashing them at home before losing narrowly away. However, such was the result at Montjuïc that they could afford a minor slip-up in Germany, and won 3-5 on aggregate after both games.
Bastoni has been a brick wall at the back...
Simone Inzaghi's side have been scarily good at the back this season in the Champions League, and have conceded just five goals so far, keeping 8 clean sheets across the 12 games played.
Bastoni has been a huge part of that success in defence, with the 26-year-old raising eyebrows across Europe with hugely impressive performances.
Barcelona squad
Here's the full Barcelona squad for tonight's clash, with the notable exceptions of the aforementioned injuries...
Which of the attackers will have the upper hand today?
Lamine Yamal's UCL stats: 11 games, 4 goals, 4 assists
Lautaro's UCL stats: 11 games, 8 goals, 1 assist
Here's the match report from last night, the first semifinal, that PSG edged 0-1:
PSG will be delighted with that result after a strong performance across the 90 minutes away from home.
The first half of the game saw the away side fly out of the blocks and score with a fabulous Dembélé strike that he hit on the bounce, with the ball crossing the goal and flying into Raya's net after clipping the post on the way past his outstretched glove.
Then came a period of French dominance, with Luis Enrique's side exuding a sense of control indicative of why many have them tipped to win the trophy. Martinelli went close towards the break, but his effort was stopped by a solid Donnarumma who continued his form in the second half.
Despite forcing Donnarumma into a few nice saves, the Parisians were in control for large swathes of the fixture and constantly threatened on the break.
A couple of late chances from PSG saw them hit the bar and miss a sitter thanks to Barcola, who will know he could have done a lot better to take his side one step closer to progressing to the final.
It all got a bit desperate for Arsenal towards the end as they huffed and puffed in front of goal.
While there may be frustration from Arsenal, they can have no complaints with the result and a 0-1 scoreline is not an unsurmountable deficit to overturn in Paris, where the pressure will be on both teams in another intriguing round of Champions League football.
Barcelona are coming off a great win in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid, which is always good for the soul if you're that way inclined.
The game was a hugely entertaining spectacle, with Barcelona going ahead thanks to a Pedri goal before being pegged back with Bellingham and Tchouaméni getting on the scoresheet.
Ferran scored late in the game to level to scoreboard and send the game into extra-time.
However, it was right-back death weapon Jules Koundé who sealed it right before penalties, giving Barcelona the trophy and another victory over their eternal rivals.
Flick's pre-game plan:
Before training we spoke about what we have to change to face Inter. We have to protect the midfield and still make it important to have the ball, defend well and commit few errors. We will have to cover all the space.
It's the semi-finals of the Champions League and both teams want to get through. We are two games away from the final and we can't be tired. Everyone is focused knows how important this semi-final is. The Copa del Rey final was demanding for us, it's true but the victory can help us. We have to give 100%.
When you win a final against Real Madrid you are naturally happy and emotional. Now, we have to turn a page. We have the chance to reach the Champions League final, a dream for everyone. So, we have to focus on that be at our best.
Inter to play in their white away kit
Barcelona will, as expected, play in their blaugrana strip, while the away side go with their second kit for today's clash.

Phil Noble / REUTERS
Who's the ref?
It's everyone's favourite Frenchman, Monsieur Clément Turpin. He's a Ligue 1 and Champions League regular, and last took charge of a game in Europe's elite competition in March, when Real Madrid beat Atlético Madrid 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Barcelona waiting on their new home...
You'll surely have noticed with your eagle eyes that Barcelona are not playing at their usual Spotify Camp Nou ground, and they haven't been for a while. That's because, as the video shows, their old stomping ground is being redeveloped into a super-stadium with lights and fireworks and unicorns and who-knows-what-else.
It's set to be one of the greatest stadiums in world football, with a planned capacity over just over 100,000.
For now, however, they're playing up the road (and moutain) at Montjuïc, the site of the Barcelona Olympic Games. It's got lovely views, and things on the pitch haven't gone terribly for them either in recent times.
Yamal was on fire pre-game:
Everyone knows that Inter are a really strong side and are really strong at the back. They are good in attack too as when they get the ball back they counter quickly.
However, we are good with the ball and we will do everything we can to do play how we normally play and get a great result. It's a Champions League semi-final and we are playing for a place in the final - both sides will give their all.
The atmosphere at the Copa del Rey final was fantastic. We went out to enjoy ourselves. I would love to experience it again. I am really motivated and I have butterflies in my stomach before the games, but I don't feel pressure. I just like to play and give everything. I left fear behind in Mataró.
We give everything as we feel the shirt because we have grown up here and we know what it means. I think that has a lot to do with it. I don't hope that it is Lamine Yamal's era, but Barça's era.

Marcelo del Pozo / REUTERS
Who to watch: Barcelona
He's lightning quick, unpredictable on the ball, gets dangerous crosses in, causes chaos on the right wing and even has developed an eye for goal, turning him into one of the deadliest players in Spain and Europe.
Yes, Jules Koundé is in spectacular form for FC Barcelona, and is my player to watch tonight against Inter. The Italians have, as you might expect, a pretty tip-top defensive record, so breaking through the wall will be a huge task for Barcelona who haven't struggled for goals this season.
While they might end up doubling up on poor little Lamine Yamal, expect Koundé to take advantage of that if it turns out to be the case. His goal against Real Madrid last weekend won his side the Copa del Rey, so confidence is not an issue, and I personally don't think there's a more in-form defender in the world at this moment in time.
Inter team news:
Benjamin Pavard is the standout absence for the Italians, who will also be without Valentín Carboni.
As well as those two, fans have been sweating over the fitness of forward Marcus Thuram, who is doubtful for the first leg.
Barcelona team news:
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has had to put his squad jigsaw together carefully this evening as he is without Bernal, Casadó, Balde and Lewandowski, who all have various injuries to deal with.
