Barcelona’s complete fixtures list for 2024-25: full calendar - all matchdays and dates, El Clásico, Catalan derby
Hansi Flick will make his LaLiga debut at Mestalla as his Barça will battle for four trophies next season - including the revamped, expanded Champions League.
Barcelona now know their complete fixtures calendar for the 2024-25 LaLiga campaign and the almost all of the dates for the other competitions they will take part in - the Champions League, Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup. Like last season, the Blaugranas will be playing their home games at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Montjuïc while renovation continues at Camp Nou.
Barcelona involved in four competitions next season
Barça however, will not be one of the 12 European clubs involved in the inaugural edition of the new Club World Cup. Spain have two representatives in the tournament - Real Madrid, who qualify as one of the last three winners of the Champions League and Atleti, who qualify ahead of Barcelona for accumulating more points in UEFA’s club ranking.
Hansi Flick will make his LaLiga debut as Barcelona coach against Valencia at Mestalla on the weekend of 17-18 August and the team’s season will also end on the road , at San Mamés as guests of Athletic Club.
Barcelona’s 2024-25 calendar in other competitions
The new season will be one of changes with the new, expanded Champions League which will feature 36 teams with a league phase replacing the old group stage. Barcelona will find out who their rivals are in the League phase draw, which will take place on Thursday 29 August 2024.
Barcelona last won the Copa del Rey in 2020-21 - incidentally, Messi’s last trophy win with the club, and will begin the quest for their 32nd title in the New Year. The dates for next season’s competition have not been confirmed by the RFEF but Real Madrid, along with title holders Athletic Club, Barcelona and Mallorca will enter at the Round of 32 stage.
Spanish Super Cup
Barcelona, as last season’s LaLiga runners-up with join champions Real Madrid and Athletic Club and Mallorca, as last season’s Cup champions and runner-up respectively in the domestic Super Cup. The bracket has already been designated: Madrid vs Mallorca and Athletic vs Barcelona in the semi-finals.
There are no confirmed dates as of the moment, although the tournament will most likely be played during the week of January 13 to 19 2025 - before the last two days of the Champions League league phase. One semi-final would be played on January 15, another on January 16 with the final on Sunday 19 January. The Federation will soon be announcing the official dates.
We also know when Flick and his players will get a break from it all - at least those who are not involved with their national teams. There will be four international breaks next season: 2-10 September, 1-15 October, 11-19 November, 17-25 March and 2-10 June.
Competition will also stop for the Christmas break in Spain with no league matches between 23 December and 11 January 2025, giving the players a chance to rest and be with their families.
