Bayern Munich reach agreement with Man City player Kyle Walker
Negotiations between the English defender and the Bundesliga champions have progressed well.
Kyle Walker is close to becoming a Bayern Munich player, report Sky Germany. The Manchester City full-back has already given the green light to the Bundesliga champions, with only an agreement between the clubs missing before the deal can go through.
The player’s market value is $14.5 million, according to the website Transfermarkt, but his age (33) and his contractual situation at the Etihad (until 2024) could lower the price to be paid by the German side. The Allianz Arena’s top brass hope to be able to close the deal, at the request of coach Thomas Tuchel, for a final price of around $11 million.
Walker would arrive at Bayern to fill the void left by the departure of Joao Cancelo, a player who also arrived from City on loan, but whose option to buy (for $78m) did not end up being executed by Bayern. Rumours about the possible departure of another right-back, Benjamin Pavard, forced the Munich side to look in the window.
