Enzo Fernández continues to make headlines in Portugal as the the player arrives back in Lisbon after his World Cup win with Argentina. Portuguese sports daily A Bola reports that Jorge Mendes (the player’s representative) has submitted two offers to his Lisbon based club.
Benfica’s sporting director Rui Costa will have received two offers worth 127 million euro with the identity of the teams behind the respective offers not yet disclosed but both bids comply with Benfica’s demands. The original plan for both club president Costa and for the player was to remain with the ‘Eagles’ through to the summer. The quantities involved in the submitted bids however mean the 21-year-old could leave the Lisbon club in January.
Speculation in the Portuguese capital points to one of the bids hailing from a club in the Premier League and other coming from La Liga with rumours suggesting that an additional third bid may be in the pipeline for the Argentine.
