Manchester City advanced to the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday, where Pep Guardiola’s side will take on Real Madrid.

City went through to the last four for the third year in a row, winning 4-1 on aggregate against Bayern Munich.

Erling Haaland missed a penalty before making it 1-0 in the 57th minute at the Allianz Arena to score his 48th goal of the season.

Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich later scored for the Germans from the spot to make it 1-1 on the night.

City take on Madrid in Champions League semi-finals

City missed out on a place in the Champions League final last season when they were beaten by reigning champions Madrid at the Bernabéu and midfielder Bernardo Silva spoke post-match in Germany about taking on the Spanish giants again.

Asked about the chance of revenge, the City midfielder told BT Sport: “Hopefully, yes. We will go for it definitely.

“We always go for it but we feel the team is very, very confident at the minute. I think we are going through.”
