CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
Can I buy Toni Kroos’ gold Champions League boots? How much do they cost?
The German midfielder will play his last game for Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund wearing limited edition Adidas 11PRO TK boots.
Toni Kroos will end his Real Madrid career in the biggest club game in soccer in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday and will do so wearing special golden boots to mark the occasion.
Kroos’ loyalty to Adidas boots
The German midfielder is unusual among modern players in the sense that he has been wearing the same model of Adidas boots, the Adipure 11Pro, since it was debuted in 2013. The sportswear manufacturer has done its best to convince Kroos to switch to newer models as they have been produced, but not to no avail.
Now, with the 34-year-old entering his final few weeks of his professional career, they have honoured him by creating the 11PRO TK limited edition white boots with gold trimmings. They have the same design as the White/Blue Adipure 11 Pro shoes from 2014 but with gold replacing blue.
Adidas 11PRO TK features
Kroos was first spotted wearing them in a Real Madrid training session in April and will be sporting them at Wembley. His Champions League final boots have the match details and the names of his wife, Jessy, and three children, Lennox, Julius and Leon, embroidered onto them.
Adidas have revealed the boots will be going on sale to the general public, although only 5,000 pairs will be made, which means you’ll have to be quick off the mark. They will obviously not feature any of the Champions League final embroidery, although Kroos’ signature will be on the sole.
Where and when to buy the Adidas 11PRO TK boots
The 11PRO TK boots will go on sale on the official Adidas website on Wednesday 12 June at 3:00 a.m. ET / 12:00 a.m. PT and will set you back $250.
You can already schedule being sent a reminder beforehand.
Kroos has won five Champions Leagues, as well as numerous domestic trophies and the 2014 World Cup, largely while wearing the same boots. He will be hoping change of footwear doesn’t lead to a change of fortune at Wembley.
