Carlo Ancelotti: “Vinícius’ red? I was surprised”
Ancelotti discussed Madrid’s victory against Rayo.
Real Madrid recorded a 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday. Karim Benzema opened the scoring and Rodrygo clinched the win late on after Rayo equalised through Raúl de Tomás. However, the evening was marked by an act of support for Vinícius in the fight against racism.
Carlo Ancelotti spoke about it all at the press conference.
How is Vinícius?
Emotionally he is fine. The support these days is good for him. He’s fine. If he hadn’t had a knee problem he would have played. We’ll see if he plays on Saturday or not.
Rescinded red card
I was surprised, I didn’t expect it. It was a mistake, they evaluated his behaviour and changed their mind. It’s a correct decision.
Benzema injured during Rayo match
He had a cut on his foot, which was bothering him. At half-time, we looked at him, and he could continue. He played his part. That cut was bothering him a bit.
How did Fran García play?
He is a full-back with a lot of energy, quick on the ball. He will be with us next season.
What do you think of the drastic measures against racism?
