Chelsea vs Bournemouth preview

Chelsea

Chelsea will be looking to grab the three points at Stamford Bridge to start climbing positions in the Premier League standings, as the London side is sitting eighth with 21 points, tied to Brighton and one point behind Liverpool.

The Blues’ season has been a roller coaster so far in the domestic league, going unbeaten in their first nine games under Graham Potter to tasting defeat in four of their last five encounters.

Hakim Ziyech and Mateo Kovacic will miss the game, as they will have more time to recover after the World Cup, while Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante, Ben Chilwell, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek aren’t ready to play yet.

Bournemouth

Meanwhile, Bournemouth resumed their campaign last Tuesday with a 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the EFL Cup, a victory that could boost Gary O’Neil pupils’ confidence in the Premier League, where they are sitting 14th with 16 points.

The Cherries haven’t emerged victorious in their last games away from home so grabbing the three points at Stamford Bridge doesn’t seem the easiest job.

However, Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last three Premier League clashes with Chelsea, so they already know what it feels like to get a positive result in London.

Neto and David Brooks won’t be available, while Jefferson Lerma, Lloyd Kelly, and Marcus Tavernier are doubtful.
