Chivas offer ‘olive branch’ to Alexis Vega with call-up
Veljko Paunovic’s Chivas head to Mexico City to face Pumas in the last round of games in the Apertura 2023 with Vega in the squad.
The punishment appears to be over with forgiveness in the air as Alexis Vega is included in the Chivas squad that travel to Mexico City for Saturday’s Apertura 2023 match against Pumas.
Ahead of the final game of the regular season at Ciudad Universitaria, Guadalajara have decided to pardon the last of the three players involved in the “party” organized at the hotel after the away match against Toluca. Alexis Vega was the only player who remained ostracised with Raúl Martínez and Cristian Calderón back playing for Chivas again.

Vega was spotted with the rest of the squad as the Chivas expedition departed from Guadalajara’s Miguel Hidalgo airport ahead of the short flight to the Mexican capital.

At present it remains to see if the Chivas No. 10 is given playing time in the game against Pumas with the match sold out with thousands of CDMX based ‘Sacred Flock’ fans creating a party atmosphere outside their hotel in the capital.
