Cody Gakpo is the man of the moment in the Eredivisie. He was Erick Gutiérrez’s teammate at PSV but due to his performances at the Qatar 2022 World Cup with the Netherlands, Liverpool circled in the murky water before striking ahead of Manchester United, who also had their eye on the player.

According to Transfermarkt, the English club paid €42 million for the signature of the Dutchman, three million less than what Napoli spent in 2019 for Hirving Lozano.

Going down...

A little less than three years later, Napoli’s business with the Mexican has not turned out in the way they might have hoped. Again, according to Transfermarkt, ‘Chucky’ Lozano’s value is currently at just €28 million. The player’s value is also unlikely to increase after his performances at the Qatar World Cup 2022, in which Mexico failed to get past the group stages after a draw with Poland, a loss to Argentina and a win over Saudi Arabia.

In addition, Lozano fell several steps down the squad ranking in terms of value and now sits behind Oshimen, Kvaratskhelia, Zielinski, Anguissa, Raspadori, Min Jae Kim and Lobotka are above the Tuzos youth squad player.
