Club América lead the way after matchday 10 of Liga MX Apertura 2023
We’re well past the mid-way stage of the Apertura 2023 season with América back on top of the table after their 1-0 win over Pumas at the Azteca.
The Liga MX Apertura 2023 table is now starting to take shape. After matchday 10, we have a new leader in Club América with the Aguilas securing maximum points with a 1-0 win in the the Clásico Capitalino (against Pumas) and the surprising win by struggling Cruz Azul against former table toppers Atlético San Luis. Tijuana’s win over Juárez in the Clásico Fronterizo was also one of the headline grabbing results over the weeknd as they beat Bravos with a resounding 5-1 final score.
América, San Luis and Tigres have a cushion at the top of the table while Juárez, Atlas, Pumas and Chivas are all tied on 15 points.
Matchdays 11 and 12 will be played this week before another FIFA window where Mexico will face Ghana and Germany. Highlights include América vs Pachuca on Tuesday before under pressure Chivas face Atlas in the Guadalajara (Clasico Tapatio) derby on 7 October.
