Club América, the only Liga MX team that remains unbeaten on US soil in the Concachampions
Despite not going through their best moment under the command of André Jardine, the Coapa team has achieved what no other Liga MX team has.

The Concacaf Champions Cup quarterfinals kicked off with two compelling matchups—and MLS clubs came out looking strong. LAFC grabbed a significant first‑leg advantage over Cruz Azul, while Nashville earned a hard‑fought draw against Club América.
And so far, América stands alone as the only Mexican team in this year’s tournament to maintain a positive record on US soil against MLS opponents.
Under head coach André Jardine, América has yet to lose when facing MLS teams in the United States. In the Round of 16, they edged Philadelphia Union with a narrow win, and now they’ve held Nashville to a scoreless draw.

Other Liga MX teams haven’t been as fortunate
Unlike América, clubs such as Cruz Azul, Tigres, and Pumas have all suffered defeats in the U.S. during this edition of the tournament—results that forced them into comeback mode later in the competition.
- Pumas were eliminated early after losing in San Diego to SDFC.
- Toluca and Tigres both fell to San Diego and Cincinnati, respectively, but managed to rally and advance to the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, LAFC’s strong showing against Cruz Azul and Nashville’s draw with América set the tone for an intense quarterfinal round—one where MLS sides have, so far, taken the upper hand.
And through it all, América remains the lone Liga MX club still unbeaten on U.S. turf in this year’s Champions Cup.
