The event has entered the third and final group stage games, with Mexico and Ecuador fighting for a spot in the quarterfinals.
The Copa America 2024 is slowly getting to its most exciting and interesting stage, as all 16 teams are about to finish the three games they need to play in the group stage to decide which ones will make it to the knockout rounds.
As expected, Argentina has had little trouble finishing in the Group A top spot, with three wins over Canada, Chile, and Peru, while Canada earned the second spot by recording a goalless draw against Chile. La Albiceleste, the first team to progress to the tournament’s quarterfinals, does it with a perfect record and nine points, while Canada comes second with four.

Besides Argentina and Canada, Uruguay and Colombia also made it to the quarterfinals by winning their two games in Group C and D respectively.
However, today it’s time for some Group B action, where Venezuela have been the standout team. La Vinotinto were considered as darkhorses in the event and Fernando Batista’s players have proven why. They became the first team to get a ticket to the knockout stages in their section after two victories over Ecuador and Mexico.
Venezuela are leading the standings with six points, followed by La Tricolor and the Mexicans, tied for three points, while Jamaica are sitting bottom, with no points and no chances of qualifying. That means that the main focus will be on the Mexico vs Ecuador clash. Whoever wins the game will also earn a ticket to the next stage of the competition. In case of a draw, Ecuador would be the team advancing, as they have a +1 goal difference in their favor.
