Last weekend Cruz Azul lost an interesting streak of six consecutive victories when they lost in the ‘Clasico Joven’ to Club América. The team from La Noria will now look to regain their confidence this Saturday in matchday 10 of the Clausura 2024 when they take on Chivas.

Carlos Rodolfo Rotondi, who has played in nine matches in the current campaign, said: “In this sport, neither when you’re winning are you the best, nor when you’re losing are you the worst. You have to try to have a balance, to work and try to get back to winning ways”. The Argentine midfielder spoke about Chivas, adding: “Any opponent that plays here in the Mexican league are all very tough. We have to keep working and improve what we did in the first half (against América).”

Rotondi, who has one goal in 609 minutes in the Clausura 2024, discussed the Azteca Stadium. “We all know what the stadium is and the mystique it has, and now we will try to win on Saturday at the Azteca”. Cruz Azul will play the match at the ‘Coloso de Santa Ursula’ due to the Alejandro Fernández concert that will be held at the Plaza de Toros Mexico, located just across the street from the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes.

Martín Anselmi’s Cruz Azul will go into the match in second place in the standings with 19 points, with 13 goals scored and six conceded, while Guadalajara are eighth in the table with 14 goals scored, 10 conceded and 15 points.
