Los Cementeros’ summer transfer window has been solid across the board - from early rumors and high-value departures like Alexis Gutiérrez, to potential arrivals that now seem imminent.
This could shape up to be one of the club’s most successful transfer periods in recent years.
While Luka Jovic is expected to be the marquee signing of the summer at Cruz Azul, Paradela is also making headlines as he edges closer to joining Los Celestes.
Cruz Azul preparing to pay Paradela buy-out fee
After a few weeks of stalled talks, multiple sources reported Thursday that discussions have resumed - this time with concrete figures and contract terms on the table.
According to transfer expert César Luis Merlo, Cruz Azul is prepared to trigger Paradela’s release clause - reportedly around $10 million - and offer him a four-year deal. While the agreement is currently verbal, it could be finalized in the coming days.
If all goes to plan, Cruz Azul could land both Jovic—formerly of AC Milan and Real Madrid—and the breakout No. 10 from Necaxa’s 2024-25 campaign. This comes in addition to the arrival of Nicolás Larcamón as head coach.
At this stage, no further signings are expected unless there are departures. Forwards Gabriel Fernández and Giorgos Giakoumakis are the most likely candidates to leave the squad.
