Dani Ceballos has become the first entry to the Real Madrid injury room at their Valdebebas training ground, after the club revealed via an official statement that the ex-Betis midfielder had suffered “an injury to the distal tendon in his right thigh”.

The player, who is on a long list of first-team midfielders currently at the club, is now a doubt for Real Madrid’s upcoming pre-season tour of the United States, which kicks off against AC Milan on July 23 at Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles.

Arda Güler:

Which players are back training with Real Madrid?

Carlo Ancelotti’s squad is not yet full, as the international players are still yet to return to training. Players like Luka Modric, Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, Vini Jr and Eduardo Camavinga are all still away on holiday, as they were given a slightly longer break than those players who did not feature for their national sides.

As such, the squad is not complete and Ancelotti has only had a few players back to begin the process of preparing for the new season. He has, however, had the chance to take a look at the newly-signed players such as Fran García Jude Bellingham and Arda Güler.

Which Real Madrid players will travel to the United States for the pre-season tour?

It is expected that the entire squad will travel to the United States for the pre-season tour of the country, which includes games in LA, Houston, Dallas and Orlando. In just over a week the squad will be back to its normal size and the club can begin preparing fully to try and win back the La Liga title from FC Barcelona.

As for the injured Dani Ceballos, it is not known whether or not he will be back in time for the trip to the US, with the typically short statement from the club not giving any explanation, simply saying that “his recovery will be assessed.”
