David Beckham can’t hide his joy as Inter Miami are crown champions: “Freedom to dream”

This Saturday, Inter Miami captured the 2025 MLS Cup title, defeating the Vancouver Whitecaps 3–1 at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

In a tense showdown, Las Garzas clinched the championship, sending co-owner David Beckham into pure jubilation.

Beckham’s emotional reaction

Speaking to Apple TV after the final whistle, Beckham reflected on the nail-biting finish: “In the last few minutes, we just wanted to get it done. Full credit to Vancouver—they played a great game and put us under a lot of pressure. When they scored, they had us on the ropes for a bit, but the momentum shifted once we regained control in midfield. And when you give the ball to Leo (Messi), he creates chances. The team stayed united.”

Beckham also opened up about the journey of building Inter Miami alongside Jorge and Jose Mas: “I lost many nights of sleep. But you know what? I always believed in Miami and in bringing this team here. I found the perfect partners, and once I did, I knew anything was possible. As the back of our jerseys say: freedom to dream.”

He added with emotion: “We always promised our fans we’d bring success. We always promised we’d bring the best players. Tonight we delivered. Next year is a new chapter, and we’ll go again—but tonight, we celebrate.”
