It’s been a very complicated few months for Manchester United. From a hesitant start in both the Premier League and the Champions League, to the uncertainty surrounding the club with rumors that owners, the Glazer family, might be planning on selling their stake.

After the midweek disaster at home to Galatasaray, the protests against the North American owners were noticeable during Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brentford, where Erik Ten Hag regained some breathing space thanks to an agonizing comeback in stoppage-time.

One club legend was asked for his thoughts on United’s situation and replied by making a call for stability at what he considers to be, “The best club in the world”. David Beckham spoke about the team he loves during his appearance at the Qatar Grand Prix.

“We are one of, if not the biggest club in the world. We want stability,” he told Sky Sports. “I think that’s the most important thing. We all have our favorites of who we feel needs to run the club and look after it to get it back to where it belongs”.

The Briton also assured that, “In our eyes, in the eyes of the fans, we are number one. We want to get back to the top and I think I know the right people to do that”. When asked if he was referring to INEOS Group’s proposal tabled by Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Beckham replied cryptically, “We’ll see”.

Patience with Ten Hag

While the Glazers have been singled out by United fans, Dutch coach, Erik Ten Hag, is also treading a tightrope after fallling out of favor with a section of fans. However, Beckham asked for patience. “I think he’s a good coach. It is a difficult time at the moment but there’s a lot of noise in the club at the moment so it can’t be easy for him. We all want that noise to go away. And we all want a decision to be made - for the club, for the fans, for the players and for the manager as well”.
