At 3:18 pm (CEST), Cristiano Ronaldo took to social media to announce the launch of his new YouTube channel “UR Cristiano” with eight short videos already uploaded on the home page.

Within the space of an hour, the channel had already amassed 1.5 million subscribers with the number growing exponentially as the day wears on with fans across social media platforms confident that the Al Nassr striker is on track to challenge MrBeast with the most popular YouTube channel on the planet.

MrBeast aka James StephenJimmyDonaldson is a well established YouTuber and internet personality and now well established businessman, known for his fast-paced and high-production videos featuring elaborate challenges and lucrative giveaways.

The 26-year-old has 311 million YouTube subscribers and and is also the third-most-followed creator on TikTok with over 103 million followers. He also has over 60 million followers on Instagram and 30.9 million on X (formerly Twitter).

Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed Instagram account in the world with the Portuguese boasting 636 million followers, ahead of Argentine striker Lionel Messi and singer/actress Selena Gomez with Ronaldo also having 112 million followers on X and only time will tell if the Madeira native can catch the American YouTuber.

What’s on UR Cristiano?

The eight videos on Ronaldo’s channel are of a more personal nature with the player discussing ‘perfect happiness’, the pressure of being a global icon with his partner Georgina Rodriguez featuring heavily in some of the the videos.

Inevitably the striker’s social media team will be planning a roll-out of more videos as the Al Nassr striker looks to challenge the likes of T-Series, Vlad and Niki, PewdiePie and CocoMelon at the top of the most subscribed YouTube channels league table.
