On Wednesday, two goals from Lionel Messi and one from Josef Martínez saw Tata Martino’s Inter Miami beat Orlando City in the Leagues Cup Round of 32. The result sees Messi and Co. advance to the Round of 16 of the competition, where they will face FC Dallas.

While Messi put in another impressive shift for his new club, in Texas they began to dream about facing the World Cup winner. And as soon as the final whistle blew between Inter Miami and Orlando, FC Dallas announced when and how tickets will be sold for the match.

“Should be a fun one. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 11AM CT,” they wrote.

FC Dallas take on Inter Miami: when and where they will play?

The match between the team from Texas and their Florida rivals will take place on Sunday, August 6, at Toyota Stadium.

The teams’ path to reach Leagues Cup Round of 16

The opening match of the Leagues Cup took place on Friday, July 21. Inter Miami are brimming with confidence after signing Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

Their path in the competition began at the same time as Messi’s arrival. The former PSG forward made his debut against Cruz Azul in the opening match. After that 2-1 win, in which Messi scored a wonderful free-kick, Martino’s men won 4-0 against MLS outfit Atlanta United before their victory over Orlando City.

FC Dallas’ Leagues Cup run

Dallas, on the other hand, drew 2-2 with Charlotte FC and lost 4-1 in the penalty shootout. Following that match, they beat Necaxa of Mexico 3-0. And, with a 2-1 win against Mazatlán, they booked their place in the Round of 16, where they will be aiming to stop Messi from working more magic.

The Texan team’s position in the MLS standings (eighth in the Western Conference) would have made them favourites going into the clash a few weeks ago. Now, with the arrival of three Barcelona legends, that has changed.
