Guillermo Ochoa’s strong recent record against Chivas
In the last five games, he has three wins, two draws and only two goals conceded. In total, he has played 24 Clásicos and won seven of them.
Chivas del Guadalajara will be once again facing the experienced netminder Guillermo Ochoa in the 246th edition of the clásico of clásicos. The Mexican goalkeeper has improved his numbers against América’s biggest rivals, with three wins and two draws in the last five games since the 2019 Apertura.
Before leaving for Europe, he had played 19 games, where he had four wins, six draws and nine defeats, but what was worse was that of those 19 games, only in six he had been able to keep a clean sheet.
Everything has changed since the 2019 Apertura where they have only scored two goals in the five derbies they have played. The 2022 Clausura ended 0-0, and it was the same score in the 2021 Apertura, while in the 2021 Guardianes, 2020 Guardianes and 2019 Apertura América won 0-3, 1-0 and 4-1.
Ochoa’s record in the Clásico
Ochoa has played 24 Clásicos, of which he has won seven times. There have been eight draws and nine defeats, and he has conceded 22 goals, but his improvement in the last five games is somewhat remarkable.
Ochoa is currently the goalkeeper who has conceded the fewest goals in the championship with 11 goals conceded in 12 games.
