After a break for the Leagues Cup -- which climaxes on Saturday evening with the final between Nashville and Inter Miami -- MLS action is returning, although weather conditions in some areas are making this more complicated.

When is LAFC vs Colorado game?

Via their social media channels, LAFC announced that the match against the Colorado Rapids at BMO Stadium, which was initially scheduled for Sunday, August 20, will need to be postponed due to the storms brought about by Hurricane Hilary. The statement read:

“Due to safety considerations resulting from inclement weather and forecasted storms in the Los Angeles area due to Hurricane Hilary, Major League Soccer and LAFC announced today that the Club’s regular season contest against the Colorado Rapids at BMO Stadium, originally slated for this Sunday, August 20, will be postponed to Wednesday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m. PT at BMO Stadium.

“Tickets purchased for the August 20 match will be honored for the rescheduled match on Wednesday, August 23.”

Following their involvement in the Leagues Cup, where they were dramatically eliminated by Monterrey’s Rayados, their Major League Soccer commitment will now have to be postponed due to Hurricane Hilary.

When is La Galaxy vs Real Salt Lake game?

LA Galaxy also had to issue a statement on its own situation in relation to the upcoming game against Real Salt Lake.

“Due to safety considerations resulting from inclement weather and forecasted storms in the Los Angeles area due to Hurricane Hilary, Major League Soccer and the LA Galaxy today announced that the 2023 MLS Regular Season match scheduled for this Sunday, Aug. 20 between the LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake at Dignity Health Sports Park has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14 (7:30 p.m. PT; MLS Season Pass on Apple TV) at Dignity Health Sports Park.

“Tickets originally purchased for the Aug. 20 original match date between the LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake will be honored for the rescheduled match date on Saturday, Oct. 14. Additionally, Sigi Schmid will be inducted into the club’s Ring of Honor on the rescheduled date against RSL on Oct. 14.”

It’s worth remembering that ‘El Tráfico’, the clash of these two LA teams, which was to mark the beginning of the current Major League Soccer season, also had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
