Update:

David Beckham is returning to his roots. The Inter Miami co-owner, along with brothers Jorge and José Mas, recently completed the acquisition of English fourth-division club Salford City. They were joined in the venture by Gary Neville, Beckham’s longtime friend and teammate from their Manchester United days.

Beckham took to social media to share what joining the Salford City ownership group means to him.

This is the place where he grew up and formed countless memories as a Manchester United player, alongside fellow members of the club’s golden generation—including Gary and Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes—all of whom have previously held shares in Salford City.

‘I’m so proud to be part of a new ownership group’

Expressing his excitement, Beckham said he’s looking forward to creating new memories with Salford City while continuing his work at Inter Miami.

“Salford played such an important role in my life growing up... it’s where I trained with United alongside my best mates every day, it’s where I bought my first house and where me and Victoria lived ❤️ I’m so proud to be part of a new ownership group alongside my mate @gneville2 as we begin the next chapter of Salford’s journey 🦁 Football is at the heart of this community and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Ammies ❤️ @salfordcityfc”

Since Inter Miami’s debut in Major League Soccer, Beckham and the Mas brothers have been committed to building a strong, sustainable project. While the team is still chasing major titles, the arrivals of superstars like Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba have transformed the club into a key player in MLS.
