Inter Miami’s schedule is starting to look busy - games against NYC FC, Colorado, Sporting KC and Monterrey loom on the horizon. Five games in the next 15 days, including the quarter final of the CONCACAF Champions Cup - a tournament they must win to achieve the dream of playing at the 2025 Club World Cup.

As the fixtures pile up, the last thing Inter Miami want is an injury crisis. Tata Martino is still without Leo Messi, who is recovering from a hamstring issue, but the coach hopes to have him back for the first leg against Monterrey in the Concachampions on Wednesday.

Inter Miami with the most injuries in MLS

After the international break, the Herons confirmed that recent signing Federico Redondo has suffered an injury to the lateral collateral ligament in his left knee, and is expected to be out of action for approximately two months.

Ahead of matchday 6, Inter Miami is the team with the most injuries in the league, as Major League Soccer noted.

Inter Miami's casualty list

  • Lionel Messi (hamstring)
  • Facundo Farias (cruciate ligament tear)
  • Federico Redondo (lateral collateral ligament)
  • Ian Fray (cruciate ligament tear)
  • Nicolas Freire (muscular injury)
  • Sergii Kryvtsov (hamstring)
  • Robbie Robinson (calf)
  • Tomas Aviles (unspecified)
  • Benjamin Cremaschi (groin)

The last two on the list appear as “questionable” - Cremaschi was recently seen training alongside his team mates, so it is possible that he could be given a run-out against NYC FC Saturday.

Martino will have to continue rotating his squad to maintain their position in the Eastern Conference and also to progress in the CONCACAF Champions Cup with the next step, booking a a ticket for the semi-finals.

The Argentine coach was without six players during the recent international break: Drake Callender (USMNT) Diego Gomez (Paraguay), David Ruiz (Honduras) and Federico Redondo (Argentina U-23) were in action, as were Shanyder Borgelin (Haiti) and Israel Boatwright (Dominican Republic).
