Christian Pulisic is in a race against time with the FIFA World Cup set to start in less than 100 days and he wants to arrive flying fit to compete with the United States men’s national team. The 23-year-old has lost his place as a starter at Chelsea due to the signing of Raheem Sterling and he is looking for an exit before the summer transfer window closes.

Pulisic’s future is up in the air

There have been two matchdays so far in the 2022/23 Premier League season and Pulisic has come off the bench in both games for a total of 31 minutes. Chelsea’s head coach Thomas Tuchel has decided to use Sterling, Mason Mount and Kai Havertz as the attacking trio in the fixtures against Everton and Tottenham.

This leaves no space for Pulisic in the starting eleven and he is aware that he has become a secondary option at Stamford Bridge. The USMNT ace has been linked to a couple of clubs this summer, but Newcastle keep insisting on signing him before the transfer window closes. Pulisic could become a key player with the Magpies and make a lethal partnership with Miguel Almirón. Last weekend, Newcastle drew 0-0 against Brighton, lacking an attacking threat.

According to The Telegraph, the Magpies are also keen on signing Conor Gallagher, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Armando Borja on season-long loan deals. The negotiations have started to send all four players to Newcastle on loan and a deal could be reached in the next few days.
