The issue between Joao Cancelo and Pep Guardiola is collecting collateral damage. According to reports, French defender Benjamin Pavard offered himself to Barcelona after discovering that Cancelo could be making a move to Bayern Munich. The Portuguese right fullback has fallen behind the pecking order with manager Pep Guardiola, prompting him to look for minutes elsewhere.

Upon finding out that Cancelo was on Byern’s radar, Pavard contacted the Cules and offered to come to play for them this winter transfer window or come summer according to reports.

In addition, Pavard is also having problems finding minutes with the Bavarians. He refuses to play on the right, wanting to play as a central defender, but Flick is not interested in having him there.

Will Barcelona sign Pavard from Bayern Munich this winter transfer window?

The Frenchman has six months left on his contract, meaning he can sign now for any team and join on a free this summer. Given the economic difficulties the Spanish team has been engulfed in the last couple of years, it seems very unlikely that Pavard will be a good move if they have to pay a transfer fee.

Is Barcelona interested in Pavard?

Yes. That’s the short answer. The team has been on the lookout for a decent RB. Unfortunately, the experiment with Dest did not work out, and they had to revert to Sergi Roberto.

Moreover, Hector Bellerin is reportedly in Portugal to finalize a deal with Sporting Lisboa, meaning the team is out of another RB. This also opens up the possibility that Pavard could move to Barcelona this winter transfer.
