The Italian and Turkish soccer federations have revealed that they will launch a joint bid to host the 2032 edition of the European Championships. Turkey had originally declared their interest in hosting either the 2028 or 2032 edition alone, with Italy doing so for the latter tournament. However, the two countries have withdrawn their initial interest and requested to join forces for 2032. They must now submit new documentation which complies with the bidding requirements.

The final stages of the pan-European 2020 tournament, postponed to 2021 because of the covid-19 pandemic, were played at Wembley in London, while two group matches and one round of 16 game was played at Hampden Park in Glasgow. England also hosted Euro 1996.
