Jude Bellingham finally leaves England to return to Real Madrid
The midfielder was called up by the England National Team despite suffering from a shoulder issue. He has now returned to Madrid.
Rejoice! Praise be! The pesky England National Team, who didn’t want to see their best player leave the squad, have finally let him out of their grasp and Jude Bellingham will travel to Madrid to continue his recovery from the shoulder injury suffered in the LaLiga game against Rayo Vallecano.
England, as you may expect, were unwilling to see Bellingham leave the international setup until it was confirmed that he could not feature due to the dislocation which is clearly still impeding him from stepping out onto the pitch.
While his participation against Malta was all but impossible, a sight of the LaLiga star against North Macedonia was still thought of as being a possibility by the England team doctors, who wanted to make sure they had the full diagnosis before making a judgement call on whether or not to let him fly home.
FA say Bellingham ‘assessments on Monday but will now return to Real Madrid’
Bellingham is not the only player to leave national duty with the Three Lions. He joins Maddison, Dunk, Colwill and Wilson in a long line of injured stars who have returned to their club teams to carry on with their respective recoveries.
The English FA released a short statement in which they said that “Jude Bellingham and Levi Colwill will play no part in England’s forthcoming UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia. The pair arrived at St. George’s Park for assessments on Monday but will now return to Real Madrid and Chelsea respectively to continue their rehabilitation.”
When is Real Madrid’s next game?
Bellingham will leave his native England and travel back to Madrid where he will complete his recovery process with the club. Real Madrid have a key set of fixtures coming up as they take on Cádiz on November 26. Shortly after that the Champions League returns where Los Blancos will go up against Napoli for top spot in the group.
Real Madrid hope that he will be fit to participate but, if the last two games are anything to go by, he will not be missed as much as anticipated, given the return to form of both Rodrygo and Vinicius, despite their change in position.
