LaLiga eclipsed by Belgian, Norwegian and Croatian top flights
LaLiga teams have spent less than 3 million euro in the current winter transfer window and languish behind traditionally ‘smaller’ leagues.

With just a week remaining in the current winter transfer market, Spanish top flight teams have been asutere in their purchasing.
As things stand, the Spanish First Division lags behind most major (and even minor) European leagues in terms of winter market outlay with even the likes of the Belgian and Russian second division teams spending more than LaLiga sides.
Currently, LaLiga ranks in 34th position in terms of spending with the outlay less than three million euros (2.63 million), according to the Transfermarkt portal, which has been spent on just two players.
Even the Spanish third tier (Primera RFEF), surpasses the elite level thanks to the investment of Celta B with Jones El-Abdellaouiy or that of Barça Atétic with Ibrahim Diarra.
The most powerful teams in LaLiga financially (Madrid, Barça and Atleti) have not spent anything in this window with Liverpool’s rejection of Real Madrid’s bid for Alexander-Arnold means that no major moves will take place.
