“Luis Díaz dreams of playing for Barcelona” - Liverpool player’s father
The Liverpool player’s father admitted in Colombia that he is a fan of the Catalan club.
The last couple of weeks have not been easy for Luis Díaz or for his father, Luis Manuel Díaz, who has just been released after 13 days in captivity. The Liverpool player’s father - in an interview with Win Sports TV - spoke about his son’s love for FC Barcelona.
“The truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment, he hasn’t told me anything. It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and his dream would be to go there. That said, I would like to thank Porto and Liverpool for the way they looked after him,” he said.
“Luis is a player who is easy to win over because of the way he is, his humility, his hard work and his commitment. He is a very disciplined player, thank God. If they call him? There would be no problem if Barcelona came, because they are a top team and one of the best in the world,” he added.
Colombia beat Brazil thanks to Díaz double
Luis Manuel Díaz was able to witness his son’s performance for Colombia against Brazil and was understandably very emotional in the stands as the Liverpool forward scored a brace to win the game. The Díaz family will travel to England to spend Christmas there with their son.
The Colombian forward is happy at Anfield, having joined the club in January 2022. Jurgen Klopp was one of those who fought for this signature. “When he’s on the pitch, he’s always involved in special things. We knew he would be a threat,” the German said of his player.
