Luis Figo makes clear call on Jude Bellingham’s role in Real Madrid’s Bayern comeback bid
Figo is backing Madrid to turn their Champions League quarterfinal against Bayern Munich around, with the aid of Bellingham.
Luis Figo, a legend of both Real Madrid and Barcelona, believes Madrid still have what it takes to overturn their Champions League deficit against Bayern Munich.
“There’s no doubt it’s a difficult tie, and 2-1 is a tough result to come back from,” Figo told Betfair. “But if there’s a team with the greatness and quality to do it, it’s Real Madrid. Despite the result at the Bernabéu and the history of this competition, I believe they can reach the semifinals.”
What Vinícius and Mbappé must do against Bayern
Figo emphasized that finishing chances will be critical, especially given the circumstances heading into the second leg.

“Efficiency is key, especially in a game like this,” he explained. “They’re playing away from home and trailing after the first leg. It’s obvious that if Vinicius and Mbappé are sharp and clinical, it becomes much easier to get a positive result.”
Still, he stressed that attacking quality alone will not be enough.
“What really matters is containing Bayern’s attacking power. They need to avoid suffering defensively and take control of the game as early as possible.”
Tchouaméni absence raises questions
Real Madrid will be without Aurélien Tchouaméni, a significant loss in Figo’s view.
“Yes, it’s an important absence,” he said. “Tchouaméni plays a key role in the team’s balance. But I think Madrid have options to replace him.”
Figo pointed to Jude Bellingham as a potential solution.
“Could it be Bellingham? I think so. He showed in the first leg at the Bernabéu that he came off the bench very well. He has more than enough quality to make a difference and change the game. For me, Bellingham should always be on the field. That’s the logical choice.”
Jude Bellingham gets his FIRST START in La Liga since January 24th.

Figo praises Olise’s standout performance
As a former winger himself, Figo was particularly impressed by Bayern star Michael Olise’s display in the first leg.
“He had an outstanding game. His quality is incredible,” Figo said. “I really like him as a player. If he continues on this path, he’ll always be a Ballon d’Or candidate.”
Figo believes Olise is already among the most unique wide players in the game today.
“He’s a special kind of winger right now, and he plays for a top club like Bayern Munich. Could he play for Real Madrid? He has the quality to play for any team in the world, whether it’s Madrid or anyone else.”
