Update:
Manchester United vs Arsenal: how to watch
AS English

Arsenal travel to Old Trafford on Sunday as Premier League leaders with the only perfect record in the division after five games. Mikel Arteta, who spent most of last season being questioned by Arsenal fans and missed out on the Champions League to arch-rivals Spurs by two points, appears to have hit on the formula for success this time around, not least by adding the incredible talent of Gabriel Jesus to his squad having snapped up the under-used Brazilian from Manchester City. Handing Martin Ødegaard the captain’s armband has also proved a masterstroke, the former Real Madrid midfielder reveling in his role and becoming Arsenal’s key player after making his switch to the Emirates permanent in 2021. The Spaniard has also shored up Arsenal’s once-vaunted back four, who shipped 48 goals last season, conceding just four times so far in 2022-23 while rattling in 13 at the other end.

Ronaldo the fall guy as Ten Hag turns United around

Should Arsenal beat United on Sunday it will be the first time since 1947-48 the Gunners have won the opening six games of a season and will go some way to cementing their status as genuine contenders for the title. Had this game been played a few weeks ago the visitors would have been heavy favourites to do so but Erik ten Hag has dragged his side out of their malaise and chalked up three straight victories to move United to fifth. The Dutchman has proved he is no doormat in his early tenure, dropping the much-maligned Harry Maguire and consigning Cristiano Ronaldo to the bench in United’s last three games. If Ten Hag has a problem it is goals, United scoring just five so far this season and failing to win a match by more than a single-goal margin so far.

Casemiro will be handed a first Old Trafford start in an attempt to prevent Arsenal from inflicting too much damage on a back line that leaked four at Brentford, but United have managed a clean sheet in their last two games. Antony, United’s latest big-money addition, may also be in line for a debut. Arsenal may have to do without Ødegaard after he picked up a knock in the victory over Villa and first-choice keeper Aaron Ramsdale is also a doubt, which could mean a debut for USA international stopper Matt Turner.
